Our Privacy Policy

information we collect

To fulfill your order we must collect some of your information (of which you obliged to provide us when you order), this information includes: name, email address, postal and billing address, payment information and whatever extra information you provide if you are ordering a custom order via our email address. 

We also have a very simple policy: we only use your data to provide you with your online order and we then store all orders & data for 7 years for Tax obligations.

We have never, and will never, use your order details to send you marketing via any channel.

We have also never, and never will, sell your information to other companies.

Why we need this information

We rely on a number of different legal legislation, acts and regulations to be able to collect your data and we only ever use this data for lawful use such as:

  • Data usage needed to provide our services, this data includes: name, email address, payment information, items ordered and more.

  • If necessary, we may use your data for legal reasons such as (if necessary) to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law.

  • As necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving our services.  We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our services

Information sharing and disclosure

We may use your information in certain circumstances. We may share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

  • Wix. We share information with Wix as necessary to provide you our services and comply with our obligations.

  • Service providers.  We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to our shop, specifically delivery companies. We will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services such as address information and name.

  • Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:

    • Respond to legal process or to government requests.

    • Enforce my agreements, terms and policies.

    • Prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues.

    • Protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers, or others.

Data retention

We at Twinkknits retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 6 years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to however we may be required to keep this information if longer in certain circumstances.

Your rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below:

  • Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

  • Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where we are required to store data for legal reasons) we will generally delete your personal information upon request.

  • Object. You can object to our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests.

  • Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
